HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR LINGERIE OR SWIMWEAR
Lingerie:
In general, follow the instructions on the care labels.
Hand washing at low temperature with a detergent for delicate materials (type detergent for woollens) is recommended, particularly for lace, tulle, silk. Preferably choose a liquid detergent that is more soluble in water to prevent the fabric from bleaching. Lye should be dissolved in water before soaking. Do not let your lingerie soak, especially for color and prints.
If you machine wash your lingerie, use a washing bag to avoid possible snagging with other clothes and consider stapling the bras. Never wash at more than 30°C; do not spin at more than 600 rpm; do not use the dryer, prefer to dry flat. Do not bleach.
Stockings :
Hand washing separately is recommended. No machine drying, no ironing, this could alter their elasticity. Also avoid fabric softener when there are silicone parts.
Swimwear :
After each use, rinse your swimsuit with clear water to preserve all its elasticity and its original colors. Machine washing is possible, but in a short program and in cold water. Drying flat, away from a direct heat source is recommended.
Silk lingerie:
To keep silk looking as good as new for a long time, there are certain golden rules to follow:
• Do not rub or twist it.
• Do not apply bleach on it, it may turn yellow.
• Do not wash silk at more than 35°C and above all do not boil it. Wash it and rinse it with lukewarm water (silk does not tolerate temperature differences).
• Do not wash floss with bleach.
• Do not dry silk in the sun.
• To prevent fading, wash each piece separately.
• Protect it from moths that love it.
• Do not enclose a floss in plastic (bag, storage box).
Effective products on silk are:
• ammonia
• white alcohol vinegar.
• Alcohol at 70°/90°
For drying:
• Roll the part on a terry towel.
• Spread it on a dry, white towel.
How to remove a stain from silk?
Silk is fragile. Some bristles do not support wet stain removal, others whiten when rubbed. Thanks to our advice, learn how to clean all stains on a silk garment.
1/ Do not attempt to remove a stain from colored silk clothing without making sure that the silk is resistant to the stain remover. To do this, pass a cotton swab moistened with stain remover over the hem or the inside of a pocket. If the color of the floss fades or/and the cotton swab stains, do not attempt to detach the floss. Entrust it to the cleaners or detach with dry stain remover products such as Terre de Sommières.
2/ If the silk is intact and the cotton swab colorless, then gently detach the silk garment by dabbing it, using a white cloth moistened with stain remover.
3/ Do not rub the stains by insisting too heavily on the fabric. The silk could bleach.
4/ As the stain remover continues its action after stain removal, rinse the silk garment well by dabbing it with a damp white cloth.
